Cajun Encounters has been featured in a spot on summer travel by none other than VIP Magazine.
The team here is so excited for the spot, and we thank the writers for reaching out to us from Beaumont, Texas.
Check out our “blurb” below. It mentions our authentic Swamp Tour, the Honey Island Swamp, and our City Cemetery Tour, which are all such fun things to experience. Don’t forget, the Plantation Tour is great to do when it’s warm out because there’s a ton of air condition!!
Our friends at Louisiana Northshore have just sent word about a Cajun Encounters photo being spotted in Times Square. We had no idea, and we cannot tell you how excited we are.
A big thanks to our friends at LouisianaNorthshore.com for making this possible. It has truly made our day.
Gators are taking over the big apple y’all!!! Remember, this photo is NOT photoshopped in any way. Those of you who have been on a swamp tour can certainly attest to that.
We are proud to report that Group Tour Magazine has highlighted Cajun Encounters tours in their recent article, “Gator group tours in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp”.
Things are always festive here in the Big Easy, and even more so at Cajun Encounters Tour Company. Right now, though, it’s safe to say that things are positively nutty.
In just over ONE WEEK, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens will be squaring off in our beloved Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Tensions are high, fans are flocking to the Crescent City, and just about every hospitality business is high-tailing it around in efforts to give our visitors the welcome they deserve. It is more than exciting, and SO MUCH FUN.
This is all happening in the midst of CARNIVAL SEASON!! That’s right, parades are already rolling each and every weekend here, and sometimes on days in between. Mardi Gras colors can be seen everywhere, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find a second line, feathered hat, or Mardi Gras beads when you turn the corner on any French Quarter street.
Here at Cajun Encounters, we are having a ball. Tours are running, king cakes are arriving, football debates are a’ blazing, and we’re in the middle of it all. We’ve even decorated the swamp tour camp to be festive!! Just check out our pics!
A few months ago, we were visited by a video crew in town promoting the Gulf South for a national TV commercial. Our team, along with some gracious tour-goers, welcomed the cameras, directors, and crew to the Honey Island Swamp, and showed them what a real swamp tour was about.
It feels like we’ve waited forever to see how the spot came out, and we must say it looks great.
BP Commercial: “Now is the Perfect Time to Visit the Gulf”
On October 20th, we had the honor of showing the kids at UNO some of the great sights of New Orleans. On October 20th, we took them to the Contemporary Arts Center, Le Petit Theatre, The Saenger, & Anthony Bean Community. It was so much fun!
This morning, we received a “Thank You” card from Ali and her Nana. They had taken a Honey Island Swamp Tour with us a small while ago, and during their visit had picked up a plush frog Ali quickly named “Louis”. Unfortunately, Louis couldn’t be found after a game of Hide and Seek, so her Nana reached out to us.
The team here jumped on it, and sent one of our frogs “in hiding” here at the shop. After a short while, Ali and her frog were back together, and Nana thanked us with this beautiful card and photo.
It’s always touching when you get a note of appreciation. Here’s to Nana, Ali, and Louis!
Last week, the city of New Orleans and its surrounding areas faced the wrath of Hurricane Isaac. No one we spoke to was really worried. It was supposed to be a Category 1, and to the folks of Louisiana that’s just a hard storm! Boy, were we wrong.
Yes, Hurricane Isaac was a lesser category, but it hovered over us for THREE DAYS, dumping water on us, and shooting debris everywhere with its high gusts of wind.
Luckily, the city did fine, sans being out of power for a few days. At the camp, there was flooding, lots of fallen branches to pick up, and breech scare of the Pearl River to worry about. The Cajun Encounters team quickly arrived as soon as possible and got to work cleaning up. Bathrooms were cleaned, trash was taken out, branches were cleared out, and everywhere got a good scrubbing. By the Saturday following the storm, we were back in action. (And after almost a week of going crazy, stuck in our homes for days, being back at work was amazing!!)
Here’s some pictures of “Clean Up Day”. We’re so proud of the team for pulling together.
