Mar. 2, 2012 : My kids and i came to New Orleans for a couple of days to get away from life a little bit... I made the reservation over the phone and did NOT have to be charged ahead to hold it. Also, when we we're on our way there, and being from out of town, took a little longer than we should've, we recvd an actual PHONE CALL from an employee, making sure my kids and i were ok and that we were still coming. The phone call itself made me think that maybe they were calling because they NEEDED the riders on the trip that day - you know - to make their money. But no! When we finally got there the boat was actually FULL and the only seats available were the three that i had reserved for myself and my two sons. Nice of them thinking and waiting for us. The actual ride was beautiful. The driver (Bishop i think his name was) was a total character! Funny, very knowledgable about the area and the local flora. He kept us entertained as well as interested - even feeding a baby alligator stale marshmellows from a plastic bag that had seen better days. The baby gator didn't care, he turned around and ate - staying a while when we stopped. The guide made myself and my two sons very comfortable - even moving others around to make sure we'd be able to sit together. From the beginning he told us his qualifications and as the trip went on, he proved them. The ride was smooth, going and coming and my kids and i were very disappointed when it was over. Only the battery in my camera dying made it better. Time to go. Thank you from the three of us for a nice trip. If we come down again - we'll come by. (0:
Feb. 12, 2012 : Just wanted to say thanks to Cajun Encounters for the great tours. City and Cemeteries and espescially the Swamp Tour With Captain Todd on Tuesday Feb. 7th (Last Tour of the day) He was Great --Everyone was happy to see the aligators and then got to pet one. That was great. We sure will take another tour with your company when we are back in New Orleans. Thanks Again. Rich and Pat Day (Illinois)
Jan. 4, 2012 : Awesome experience! Went New Year's 2012 to visit the legendary swamp. Serene and mysterious--should not be missed if in NOLA. Gator's were in hibernation (we knew) but did see other wildlife inc a HUGE bird. Would love to go back in Spring/Summer. Great tour guide/captain on boat. Bus driver en route to swamp gave a detailed run thru on Katrina & it's colossal damage, adding to the entire experience. Keep up the great work Cajun Encounters!
Dec. 13, 2011 : My husband and I took the swamp tour Nov 8 or 9 of this year. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Captain Troy was incredible!! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I highly recommend this tour for everyone. Thank you for a great experience.
Dec. 12, 2011 : We were in New Orleans for my friend's birthday - we almost didn't go on a swamp tour because we were told that the alligators would be hibernating, but the Cajun Encounters Honey Island Swamp Tour ended up being one of the HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR TRIP!!! Sure, we only saw one gator, but the swamp itself, the Cajun village, the wildlife, and the guides were well worth the price of admission! Keelan was HILARIOUS! You MUST experience the brilliance of this guide! My stomach hurt from laughing so much the entire way to the swamp and back! We also had Captain Garrett, who was also totally entertaining and had us cracking up the whole time! This tour is one of the most unique experiences I have ever had and I would go on it again and again and recommend it to anyone (even in the winter!!!)
