It’s Carnival Time at Cajun Encounters

Carnival season is in full swing down here in New Orleans, and you can certainly feel the excitement in the air.

This year, the team at Cajun Encounters took part in the Krewe of Poseidon, which had their yearly parade in Slidell, LA on January 10th.

Not only was there a float, but our Cajun Encounters bus made an appearance! Fun was had by all and there were more beads than the eye can see.

In the coming weeks, we know the Mardi Gras spirit will only grow up until Fat Tuesday arrives on February 9th. If you are planning a visit to town to catch all of the fun, make sure to stop in for a Honey Island Swamp Tour, a New Orleans City Cemetery Tour, or a Plantation Tour. We hope to see you out!

Carnival Season 2014 – Gearing Up for Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Mardi Gras lands on March 4th this year, which is a bit later than folks are used to down in the Crescent City.

What does a late Fat Tuesday mean? It means more time for celebration, more weekends for parades, and even the possibility of warmer weather to don our most festive gear. It means more chances to catch beads, more opportunities to hear some of the best marching bands in the country, and more time to bring family together for the occasion.

At Cajun Encounters, it means more chances to celebrate Carnival with you, our guests. Through our swamp tours, city cemetery excursions, and plantation tours, we get to elaborate on why our “Nola” is truly special and touch upon how taking part in the fun of Lundi Gras, Mardi Gras, and the days coming relates to our culture.

It’s no secret that we are proud of our heritage and jump at the chance to show guests around.

If you’re planning a trip to the Big Easy, we’d love the chance to show you too! Just reach out to us for more info on tour dates, excursion times, and pick up areas. You can also book easily and quickly online with some pretty great instant discounts.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check back with us from time to time for more news. Now, as they say, “laissez le bon ton roulet!”

Carnival and Super Bowl Season. Oh My!!

Swamp Tour Mardi GrasThings are always festive here in the Big Easy, and even more so at Cajun Encounters Tour Company. Right now, though, it’s safe to say that things are positively nutty.

In just over ONE WEEK, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens will be squaring off in our beloved Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Tensions are high, fans are flocking to the Crescent City, and just about every hospitality business is high-tailing it around in efforts to give our visitors the welcome they deserve. It is more than exciting, and SO MUCH FUN.

This is all happening in the midst of CARNIVAL SEASON!! That’s right, parades are already rolling each and every weekend here, and sometimes on days in between. Mardi Gras colors can be seen everywhere, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find a second line, feathered hat, or Mardi Gras beads when you turn the corner on any French Quarter street.

Here at Cajun Encounters, we are having a ball. Tours are running, king cakes are arriving, football debates are a’ blazing, and we’re in the middle of it all. We’ve even decorated the swamp tour camp to be festive!! Just check out our pics!

You guys – there are still sMardi Gras Super Bowl New Orleans Toureveral spots open for tours, so be sure to get your seats before it’s too late! How better to celebrate being in New Orleans than with a Honey Island Swamp Tour, New Orleans City Cemetery Tour, Plantation Tour, or Bike Tour? Seriously! Our sister company also has party buses available to drive you around town.

Holy smokes!! We would say this is too much, but it’s never too much here in Nola.

Happy Mardi Gras from Cajun Encounters!

Welcome to New Orleans, and welcome to one of the most exciting times of the year – Mardi Gras!

We at Cajun Encounters are super excited to share this experience with visitors, and we hope that your stay is even more than you had imagined (we know that it will be). Make sure to catch as many parades as you can, eat at some of New Orleans’ amazing restaurants, like Huck Finn’s Cafe on Decatur Street, and realize that carnival season is more about culture and bringing together friends and family than it is some of that vulgar stuff that you see on tv (that’s only here and there, people!).

While you are in town, be sure to keep us in mind for the best in New Orleans city tours, Honey Island swamp tours, plantation tours, and anything that you need in regard to transportation.

We are closed on Fat Tuesday, as the entire city shuts down for the fun and festivities, but each and every day around that, we are open and tours are in action!

Again, thanks for visiting the Crescent City. We know you’ll have a great time while you are here.
