A Visit from Meier’s Weltreisen!

OSwamp Tourn Saturday, November 14th, 2015, the team at Cajun Encounters was honored to welcome Meier’s Weltreisen to town for a Honey Island Swamp Tour.

Working in partnership with the St. Tammany CVB and Louisiana Office of Tourism, PNO’s group sales manager, Leslie Cunningham, and coordinator, Hannah Alley, organized the visit, greeting the group with packets and goodies for their customized private tour.

The group was accompanied by Louisiana German Rep Karen Gilsdorf and St. Tammany CVB Manager Tanya Leader.

While out in the swamp, the tour was led by the renowned Captain Bishop, who has appeared on countless blogs and tv shows!

It was certainly a joy to have the folks at Meier’s Weltreisen come out on the water with us.

What a ton of fun!!

Designated Pick Up Spots ONLY For French Quarter Fest, April 9-12, 2015

It’s almost time for French Quarter Festival!

For all of you in town during the fest – which is this Thursday, April 9th – Sunday, April 12th – thank you for coming to the “quarter.” Remember to have fun, to wear sunscreen, and to save time for a Honey Island Swamp Tour, a New Orleans City Cemetery Tour, or a Plantation Tour!

During this time of year, the city closes access to many streets in the area and restricts access to other passageways. They do this for your safety, and safety is something we at Cajun Encounters wholeheartedly support.

Because of these street closings, we have enacted our DESIGNATED PICK UP LOCATION PLAN.

Throughout Thursday, April 9th – Sunday, April 12th, we will provide pick up ONLY at the following locations:

  1. The Ritz-Carlton (921 Canal St.)
  2. The Astor Crowne Plaza (739 Canal St)
  3. The New Orleans Marriott (555 Canal St)

When making reservations online, please be sure to choose one of these three locations to ensure that we connect.

When giving us a call, we will work with you to find the spot nearest to your hotel.

For questions or to find out which spot is closest to you, just check out Google Maps or give us a call.

Thank you for your patience as we work to accommodate everyone with the world class service our team is known for. Happy festing! And happy touring!!!

Our Friends at TAGNO Take a Custom City Tour

On August 19th, 2014, we were given the honor of showcasing New Orleans to our friends at the Travel Agents of Greater New Orleans (TAGNO). During our custom New Orleans City Cemetery Night Tour excursion, we visited City Park, the Treme, the Garden District, the Warehouse District, Marigny, Bywater, and of course the beautiful French Quarter while we traded stories about living in the Crescent City and being a part of the culture here.

The tour also included a stop at Huck Finn’s Cafe, who’s team greeted us with po boys, smiles, and the chance to get out and stretch our legs.

There were tons of laughs, lots of notes to compare, and even some brownies and petit fours to go around.

With so much to love about New Orleans and so much to learn about it’s nearly 300 year history, it’s easy to see why a city tour is fun for visitors and locals alike.

To reserve your spot on tour, give us a call at 504-834-1770. You can also book online for instant savings!New Orleans Tour

A Visit From “Hey USA”

If you’re not yet familiar with Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart, we are proud to make the introduction. These gals are real life besties, social media super stars, and a ton of fun to be around.

We can vouch for this personally, because they just came out to see us!

The premise was simple: Kidnap their biggest fan. Take him to the Honey Island Swamp. Then surprise him with a Cajun Encounters Swamp Tour. Capture everything on camera for the show Hey USA and post everything online!

We have to say, we had a blast. It was an honor to show everyone around and have them see what we do each day.

The video seems to be a hit too! It has thousands of views and hundreds of comments on Youtube within just a day of posting. It’s pretty entertaining, so we can certainly see why.

Check out the spot below and see for yourself.

Our Tours Through Your Eyes!! “All Call” For Pictures 2014.

At Cajun Encounters, we love what we do. We appreciate meeting our guests, hearing where they are from, and learning about why they chose New Orleans, Honey Island Swamp, or “Plantation Alley” to visit.

When a guest sends us a “thank you” note, emails us about their experience, or sends us a picture, the entire team wants to see. In short, the chance to see our excursions through someone else’s eyes is a joy.

This week, we made an “all call” on our Facebook page for tour photos, and boy did we get feedback! We wanted to showcase some of the amazing images we received, so be sure to scroll down to check them out!

A Visit From Audrina Patridge on NBC’s “1st Look”

It’s always such fun showing guests the Honey Island Swamp. The beautiful greenery and active wildlife never fail to inspire, and it’s neat to see people taking it in for the first time.

One of our outings most recently included the crew from NBC’s travel show, “1st Look.” Celebrity Audrina Patridge and her team joined Captain Bishop for a ride out in the swamp and it looks like they had a great time!!
